GCB and CricHQ launch live scoring app
Supporters can watch live ball-by-ball coverage of a number of junior county and district matches this summer thanks to a new partnership between the Gloucestershire Cricket Board and pioneering scoring app CricHQ.
By downloading the free app onto their iPhone or Android or visiting the GCB website people can keep up-to-date with detailed information on every ball, with graphics on everything from where it pitched, to where it was hit and how many runs were scored.
Fans logging onto www.gloucestershirecricketboard.com/index.php/crichq-live-scoring this afternoon were the first people to see the ground-breaking app in action at the Gloucestershire Under 11 vs Wales U11s match at St Peter’s Close, Frocester.
GCB Cricket Development Manager Steve Silk: “The app is fantastic and it will completely revolutionise the way people are able to follow our junior age group cricket. Parents and supporters who are unable to attend a game will be able to log on and watch live graphics of every ball as it happens.”
The CricHQ app - sponsored by Natwest - was developed in New Zealand and has been launched in the UK this summer.
It will initially be used in Gloucestershire by coaches working with several of the junior county and district teams but can be downloaded and used by anyone with a smartphone or iPad from www.CricHQ.com.
