THE Bristol County Ground is to be the venue for next month’s finals of both the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup and the Vitality U19 T20 in Association with Stuart Turner.

First up, on Saturday September 11, is the Gloucestershire Cricket Board’s showpiece youth finals day which will include two semi-finals ahead of a play-off for silverware.

And it will be followed on Sunday September 19 by the senior men’s county cup final between Golden Hill and Knowle (noon).

Gloucestershire Cricket Board chief executive Steve Silk said: “This is fantastic news. We’re extremely grateful to the County Cricket Club for creating space to hold both of these finals in what has been an incredibly busy and challenging summer at the Bristol County Ground.

“Few, if any, of the players from the six teams involved will have ever taken part in a game at a first-class venue, and to now have the chance to bat and bowl at a ground that also hosts international cricket is a rare privilege.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity, and I’m sure everyone taking part, from players and coaches to supporters, will have a memorable experience.”

The Vitality U19 T20 in Association with Stuart Turner will get underway on September 11 at 10am with the first semi-final between Twyford House and Cheltenham.

Next up is the second semi-final between holders Dumbleton and Bedminster with the final following at around 5pm.

The Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup final, meanwhile, returns to the County Ground for the first time since 2016.

And it brings together two sides who have already met twice this season in WEPL’s Bristol & North Somerset division, champions Golden Hill winning on both occasions.

The Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy final, meanwhile, will take place on Sunday September 5 (1pm).

Westbury-on-Severn and Langford will battle it out for honours at Coalpit Heath CC.
