BROTHERS Dan and Myles Holland both reached 50 (retired) for champions Dumbleton who opened this season’s account with a 40-run victory away to Frocester in the Gloucestershire Vitality U19 T20 in partnership with Stuart Turner.

The visitors were on the back foot at 12-3 in this North Performance Group clash before the siblings came together and turned the innings around with a partnership of 103.

Myles (pictured, image courtesy Brian Rossiter) was first to his 50 (39 balls, one four, two sixes) while Dan’s half century came from 45 balls and featured four fours and two sixes.

Their efforts helped Dumbleton reach 143-4, Alex Russell capturing 2-9 from his four, before Frocester were restricted to 103-9, Nathan Rose Innes top scoring on 25 as Freddie Sharp (4-12 from four) and Aaron Tomson (3-8 from three) made inroads.

Dumbleton are next in action on Friday at home to Thornbury who were beaten by six wickets at home to Cheltenham.

Alex Oliver (50, retired) along with opener Amith James (31) and Dan Collins (31 not) powered Cheltenham to a challenge of 161-4.

Opener Josh Riggs then smashed a tremendous unbeaten 50 off only 20 balls (six fours, three sixes) but could not save his side from defeat, Dan Collins capturing 3-11.

Golden Hill, in the South Performance League, trumped Stoke Bishop by 95 runs, Fuzael Ahmed thumping 50 (retired) and then taking 3-1 from 11 balls while Will Windows captured 3-22.

Jonny Groves (3-8) and George Fowler (3-13, both from three) held their nerve under pressure as Twyford House completed a thrilling one-run win over Bedminster.

Alex Wilson’s 44 lifted Twyford to a total of 154, Bailey Peacock claiming 4-26 and Joe Millard 3-18.

Bedminster were then going well at 110-2 before Groves and Fowler pulled the result out of the hat.

In the North Development League, Kingsholm were 128-run victors over Poulton, Alastair Cook (50 retired) and Hamza Shahzad (47) tarring with the bat before Dan Jones took 3-12 from four.

And in the South Development group, Knowle were five-wicket victors away to Carsons & Mangotsfield, Mateulou Abed taking 3-2 and following up with 41, James King taking 3-19 from four for the home side.
