Ishwar grabs 6-26 as Bishopston breeze through in Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup

ISHWAR Chaudhary captured 6-26 from eight overs to pave the way for holders Bishopston to breeze into the semi-finals of the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup with a ten-wicket triumph away to Bedminster.

The home side were blown away for 50 after winning the toss as Chaudhary and Will Thirkell (3-3 from 2.2) made an instant impact.

Max Harsham (32) and Tommie Predgen (12) then ensured Bish booked a semi-final trip to Knowle.

In the other half of the draw, Hatherley & Reddings dispatched Rockhampton by eight wickets and will now host Golden Hill in the last four.

The Rams were dismissed for 75 as Hamza Shahzad (3-22) led the charge ahead of opener Richard Boroughs (35 not) seeing Hatherley over the line.

One quarter-final in the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy remains outstanding with Langford entertaining Kingsholm on August 15. The winners will be away to holders Charlton Kings.

Tewkesbury will be home to Westbury-on-Severn in the second semi-final on August 22.

CLEEVE will host the Bristol & District knock out finals day on Sunday.

First up, the Bateman Trophy will be a stake when Pucklechurch take on Barrow Gurney (10.30am).

And this match will be followed by the Tony Hitch Cup final between holders Bradley Stoke and Backwell Flax Bourton at around 1.30pm.
