JOGLE – Donate a pint and say Cheers to Stu!

A good friend of Gloucestershire Cricket Board, Stuart (Percy) Priscott – Operations Manager for Chance to Shine, is taking on the challenge of cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End to fundraise for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Chance to Shine Charity.

Stuart was born with Cystic Fibrosis and will endeavour to become the oldest person with CF to cycle the length of the country. His inspirational story can be read here, whilst the short video below, gives you a real flavour for the man and why he is doing this incredible charity ride.

To those clubs who have benefited from Chance to Shine programmes over the last 15 years you’ll already have a good understanding as to what the charity does and how it helps young people engage in cricket and physical activity. It’s aim being to bring cricket to children in state schools giving them the opportunity to play and learn through the game. Over the past 12 years, Gloucestershire have benefitted from over £1million from the Charity, enabling us to work in over 200 state primary schools per year.

Stuart is not alone in his cycle and is being ably supported by fellow cricket brothers who we too applaud, Matt Theedom (Devon Cricket Board) and Scott Chappell (Somerset Cricket Board). The three have worked in cricket development for a combined total of over 50 years and we’d really like it if all of the Gloucestershire clubs could support the trio in some way.

So our thought is that all clubs could donate the cost of a pint (or more if feeling generous) and raise their glass to say ‘cheers’ as they take on this epic challenge. The trio will be joined by friends and family along the way and it will see them start from John O’Groats on Saturday 17th July.
