Parent Engagement – experience the fun and excitement of All Stars Cricket at home

All Stars activities are a great way to keep your child active around the house and in your garden. There are eight different challenges for you and your child to take part in and all you need is a bat and a ball. Even if you don’t have that equipment don’t worry, you can always use a rolled-up pair of socks as a ball and a rolled-up magazine as a bat – be imaginative!

You can find all the activities via the button below.

In addition, why not also download our All Stars Cricket Activity booklet, which comes with loads of tips to help you make the most of the garden games, and even more challenges and quizzes.  See section below for details…

All Stars Cricket Activity Booklet

The activity booklet will help kids learn the skills to play cricket and make sure they have loads of fun along the way.  It also introduces the England Cricket Stars, how to eat like a World Cup Winner, fun quizzes and word search activities.

In 2019 more than 70 Gloucestershire clubs signed up to run the scheme, up from 62 in 2018, which aims to provide a fun and inspirational first taste of cricket for 5-to-8-years-olds.all-stars-cricket

What is All Stars Cricket?

The nationwide programme, which has been created by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), will enable children to acquire the skills to play the game and connect them to England’s cricketing heroes.

All Stars Cricket offers eight weeks of coaching in a safe and inclusive environment, with the focus on having fun and making friends.

All girls and boys are welcome, and each registered child will receive a pack of cricket goodies including a cricket bat, ball, backpack, water bottle, personalized shirt and cap to keep, so that they can continue their love of cricket when they go home. Children involved in 2018 will receive different kit in year 2 including a set of stumps.

All Stars Cricket will provide your child with all of the fundamental skills they need to play cricket through, lively, fun games.

Over the eight-week programme, the trained activators will teach your child to:

  • Catch and throw a ball
  • Hit a moving ball
  • Bowl with a straight arm
  • Play a basic game of cricket
  • Work and communicate as a team
  • Have lots of fun with new friends

All Stars Cricket is also fantastic for parents. For an hour a week all mums and dads are invited to get involved and play cricket with their children. We know this is a great way to spend time with your child and create memories that will last a lifetime.
