Langford clinch the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy

LANGFORD are the new holders of the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy after completing a 47-run victory over Westbury-on-Severn at Coalpit Heath.

Aaron Court top scored with 46 off just 31 balls (six fours, three sixes) to boost Langford’s innings after losing the toss, opener Jeremy Kirby (39), Henry Findlay Wilson (37) and Harry Stevens (33) also making their mark.

Ed Edginton was Westbury’s leading bowler with a return of 3-42 from eight with Tom Landon capturing 2-26.

In reply, Westbury made a steady start but slipped from 72-2 to 157-7 and then 160 all out as Langford – semi-final conquerors of holders Charlton Kings – turned the screw.

Charlie Gayther (37), Danny Anderson (30) and Aaron Brown (29) all managed to establish themselves at the wicket for Westbury.

But the combined efforts of Chris Sinsbury (3-23), Ben Brown (3-34) and Jack Romanek (2-31) put Langford in the driving seat.
