Week 7 Bristol & District review

OWEN Onslow was in terrific form with ball and bat for Bradley Stoke who dug in to complete a low-scoring three-wicket home victory against Claverham in the Senior Division of the Martin Berrill Bristol & District League.

The all-rounder finished with 6-15 from just 6.1 overs as Claverham slipped from 90-1 to 123 all out, opener Adam Hadfield (44) and Dom Hooper (42) top scoring before the rush of wickets.

And Onslow then continued his day to remember with a crucial innings, helping his side recover from 63-6 with an unbeaten 47 from 32 (seven fours and a six).

This result moved Bradley Stoke up a place to third, seven points behind Clevedon 2nds who suffered a two-wicket home reverse against leaders Bedminster 2nds.

George Davey (3-20) and Adam Hares (3-25) combined to restrict Clevedon to 100 all out, but Bedminster had to battle all the way for the points, Chris McCormack top scoring on 34.

In Division One, Ian Mills was unbeaten on 100 for Knowle 2nds in their 81-run pounding of Downend 2nds.

Gagan Singh, a consistently heavy scorer, was again in form with 146 for Bristol New Eleven who overcame Clevedon 3rds by 144 runs in Division Nine.
