Walking Cricket

Walking Cricket is a slower paced, low impact format of the game ideal for men and women aged 50+.

It is the perfect way to remain involved with the game and meet new people, all whilst staying active.

We launched Walking Cricket during the 2018 Bristol Walk Fest and have run free weekly sessions ever since.

The specially adapted game uses a pairs cricket format and is played with a soft ball. It is designed to appeal to older players and provide a less physically demanding alternative to traditional cricket.  The sessions are open to anyone 50+ male or female and are completely free.  No prior cricket experience necessary, just a willingness to have a go and meet new people.

Details of current sessions…

  • Weekly sessions from Thursday’s from 4th November up until 16th December
  • 15:00pm to 16:00pm at the Bristol County Ground, BS7 9EJ (Sports Hall)

All equipment provided and players are asked to dress appropriately for activity and to bring a drink.  Simply turn up and play.
